Course Overview

This course focuses on equipping participants with the skills to perform professional installation and assembly of various furniture components, such as kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, and feature walls. Participants will gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge to execute installation and assembly works efficiently and safely​.

Difference between Level 1 Construction Technology and Level 2 Installation and Assembly:

​The Construction Technology course focuses on mastering manual tools and techniques, offering a more hands-on approach to carpentry. Participants will create a buffet hutch while learning the fundamentals of traditional woodworking and construction processes, emphasising craftsmanship with manual tools.

 

In contrast, the Installation and Assembly course delves into more advanced technical machinery, including CNC, to equip learners with the skills to assemble and install modern furniture components such as kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, and feature walls. This course emphasises precision and efficiency, preparing participants for technologically advanced projects in interior fit-outs.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Company-Sponsored Participants:

    • Must be employed by a company that contributes CPF (Central Provident Fund) to the staff.

    • Foreign employees may attend short courses but are not eligible for course fee subsidies or absentee payroll funding.

  • Self-Sponsored Participants:

    • Must be at least 21 years old to qualify for the course.

  • Attendance & Completion:

    • Participants must achieve 75% attendance and pass the assessment to complete the course.

  • SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC):

    • Eligible courses are supportable under the SFEC program. For more details, visit the SFEC microsite.

  • Absentee Payroll:

    • Employers can claim $4.50 per hour for eligible employees attending the course.

  • NTUC’s UTAP (Union Training Assistance Programme):

    • Union members can enjoy subsidies under NTUC’s UTAP program.

    • The course is approved for payment via PSEA funds.

Accreditation for Interior Designers

  • Accredited interior designers under SIDAS will earn 3 CPD points upon course completion.
